Objective:

The Spray Painter course is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to apply paint, coatings, and finishes using spray techniques safely and efficiently. Participants will learn surface preparation, paint mixing, spray application, equipment handling, and finishing techniques while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards. On completion, learners will be competent to perform spray painting tasks in industrial, automotive, or construction environments.

Theory:

  • Introduction to sandblasting and its industrial applications

  • Types of sandblasting equipment and components

  • Different abrasive materials and their uses

  • Surface preparation techniques before blasting

  • Understanding blasting pressure, angles, and distances

  • Health, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

  • Common problems in sandblasting and troubleshooting methods

  • Maintenance and care of sandblasting equipment

  • Waste disposal and environmental considerations

Practical:

  • Setting up the sandblasting workstation safely

  • Selecting appropriate abrasive materials for different surfaces

  • Operating sandblasting equipment correctly

  • Adjusting pressure, distance, and angle for optimal results

  • Practicing on different types of surfaces (metal, wood, concrete)

  • Achieving consistent surface finishes and textures

  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment after use

  • Inspecting surfaces for quality and completeness

  • Applying protective measures to prevent overspray and dust hazards

  • Following all safety protocols throughout the operation
