AC MECHANIC/ 390 Hours

Objective:

The AC Mechanic course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to install, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Participants will gain expertise in refrigeration principles, system diagnostics, safe handling of refrigerants, and preventive maintenance. Upon completion, learners will be competent to work efficiently and safely on various types of air conditioning systems.

Theory:

  • Introduction to air conditioning systems and refrigeration principles

  • Types of air conditioning systems (split, window, central, VRF)

  • Components of AC systems: compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices

  • Understanding refrigerants and their safe handling

  • Electrical circuits in AC systems

  • Tools and equipment used in AC servicing

  • Health, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting methods

  • Installation standards and best practices

  • Preventive maintenance and energy efficiency

Practical:

  • Preparing the work area and using PPE

  • Installing air conditioning units and ducting

  • Connecting electrical components and wiring safely

  • Charging systems with refrigerant correctly

  • Diagnosing faults and performing repairs

  • Cleaning and maintaining AC components

  • Testing and measuring system performance

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations

  • Performing preventive maintenance on AC systems

  • Proper storage, handling, and maintenance of tools and equipment
